GL ACCOUNTANT


JOB SUMMARY

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations and financial statements timely and accurately.


All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness andintegrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements
  • Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards
  • Provide assistance to Controller with external audit and regulatory examinations
  • Provide assistance to Controller with supervision and training of accounting staff
  • Assigned to major areas of responsibility such as Fixed Assets, Gaming Revenue and Tax/Licenses return preparation
  • Assist or take lead on other general ledger, accounting and analytical projects. Assist with special projects assigned by management


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have experience in Accounting; 3 years preferred 
  • Audit experience preferred
  • Must possess strong computer skills for efficient use of programs and applications
  • Must be able to gather and analyze information to answer accounting and financial questions
  • Ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management and guests to ensure a positive experience
  • Must pay attention to detail
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively and listen attentively
  • Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
