GL ACCOUNTANT
JOB SUMMARY
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations and financial statements timely and accurately.
All employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner which demonstrates friendliness, initiative, professionalism, personal awareness andintegrity while exercising confidentiality in the appropriate areas of their performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements
- Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards
- Provide assistance to Controller with external audit and regulatory examinations
- Provide assistance to Controller with supervision and training of accounting staff
- Assigned to major areas of responsibility such as Fixed Assets, Gaming Revenue and Tax/Licenses return preparation
- Assist or take lead on other general ledger, accounting and analytical projects. Assist with special projects assigned by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have experience in Accounting; 3 years preferred
- Audit experience preferred
- Must possess strong computer skills for efficient use of programs and applications
- Must be able to gather and analyze information to answer accounting and financial questions
- Ability to courteously and efficiently interact with fellow employees, management and guests to ensure a positive experience
- Must pay attention to detail
- Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity and confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively and listen attentively
- Must follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures
CERTIFICATIONS
